Colour: Intense ruby-like colour.
Aroma: Intense and complex to plum and blackberry, followed by cocoa.
Tasting Notes: The wine is voluptuous and with a good acidity. Tannins are well present and surprisingly smooth, resulting in a perfectly balanced and long lasting after taste.
Grape Varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and old vines with local grape varieties, mainly Tinta Amarela.
Alcohol Content: 13,5%
Residue: 31,5 g/l
Total Acidity: 5,14 g/l
Residual Sugar: 2,6 gr/l
Recommentations for consumption: Keep the bottle laid down away from light; the wine was filtered, it’s ready to drink and it improves with age. After opening the bottle, the wine should be consumed within 24 hours.
Ideal Drinking Temperature: Between 16 and 18oC.
Winemaking: Hand-picked grapes in 25kg containers; grape selection prior to crushing; gentle pressure; part of the wine was made by the ancestral method of treading the grapes in lagares (traditional granite tanks); fermentation under controlled temperature.
Aging: 18 months in new French oak barrels.
