Origin and Sub-Region: Douro – Cima Corgo
Aroma: Complex, initially to cherry and strawberry followed by mint, fig and spices.
Tasting Notes: The wine is soft and smooth but with plenty of volume and structure. It shows hints of strawberry throughout the taste. Long aftertaste.
Grape Varieties: Old vines with local grape varieties, mainly Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Amarela.
Alcohol Content: 14%
Dry Residue: 32,0 g/l
Total Acidity: 4,69 g/l
Residual Sugar: 3,0 gr/l
Recommentations for consumption: Keep the bottle laid down away from light; the wine was filtered, it’s ready to drink and it improves with age. After opening the bottle, the wine should be consumed within 24 hours.
Ideal Drinking Temperature: Between 16 and 18oC.
Winemaking: Hand-picked grapes in 25kg containers; grape selection prior to crushing; gentle pressure; part of the wine was made by the ancestral method of treading the grapes in lagares (traditional granite tanks); fermentation under controlled temperature.
Aging: 12 months in oak.
